click on name to see the Gramline colour chart

It is tempting to show you a colour chart on the web, but please remember that it could be very misleading.
We have no control over the adjustment of your monitor. Even in real life we find that the colours tend to change depending on the lighting conditions. The best recommendation is to see the actual product.
We have available for you:

  • A chart on the web (but be carefull)
  • Printed colour charts in our show rooms
  • Metal colour tags, and they are all workable tools, but nothing beats the actual product.
  • There are 21 colours in the range but only 12 of these are actively marketed and stocked for immediate supply. Some colours are 'old' colours that we use to match with 'older' fences.

INSTALLATION (construction)

The Privacy Fence posts (C-Posts) are set vertically in 600mm deep holes in the ground,(for clay soil) spaced at approx 2400mm. Adjoining panels have two C-posts screwed back to back with metal Tek screws (7 per post). The last (free standing) C-post (as well as corner posts) will usually be attached to a 50X50 RHS square post for stability.

Rails are mounted horizontally, one at the bottom 50 mm above ground level and one right at the top. The rails fit inside the post and are attached with Tek screws on the side of the post.

The sheets are slipped inside the rails and the rails hold them in place. No screws are used to hold the sheets. Each sheet has a small overlap and that is different depending on the design. During installation the sheets are pushed sideways so they are hard against the inside of the C-post. Postioning sheets to make sure that the overlap fits into place neatly.

Normally the posts are cemented in the ground on DAY ONE using standard concrete or post hole mix (available from Peak in 20kg bags). Posts are placed in line by the use of string lines and kept vertical with a magnetic level. In order to get the distance correct the bottom rail is temporarily placed in the posts. After the cement has set ON DAY TWO the sheets are installed and rails fixed permanently.

Lattice can be added on top of the fence. In that case you require a post that is 300mm longer plus one or two extra rails (depending on the type of lattice) plus a piece of lattice. The lattice is kept in place by the rails, the same as the sheets. For those customers who already have a fence installed, special 300mm extension pieces are available to extend your existing fence and add the lattice.

A Plinth can be installed under the fence, to hide the uneven shape of the ground. The plinth can be dug in a narrow groove into the ground and will touch the underneath of the rail. Upto three plinth strips can be stacked on top of one another. The plinth needs to be installed first, after the posts are set and firm.
