are a vital part of a fence. They will need to be strong and straight
and durable. We can supply:
Galvanised steel posts -- the strongest and very durable.
Aluminium posts to work with Aluminium pool fencing.
Pre Mortised timber posts in either Hadwood or Treated Pine.
Flange posts in Steel and Aluminium.
Special manufactured posts with brackets or made to your drawing.
Other special lengths can be cut to order if required.
Here is a little tip. When you put a post into the ground to hang a gate, you will need to consider the weight of the gate.
Most people gates, 850-1000 wide x1800 high in privacy fencing weighs around 20kg. Some security gates could be as high as 100kg.
When the gate hangs on the post, the post will bend slightly. For example 20kg on a 50x50 bends around 3mm. If you have a closing gap
of say 6mm then you can see our problem. If the post is perfectly vertical the closing gap is 3mm at the top and 6mm at the bottom.
This variation is quite visible in such a narrow gap. The best solution is to set the gate post slightly out of plumb, being wider at the top.
